Dr. Timilsina, who is the Founding Chair of the Board of Directors of the Sudurpaschim NRN Investment and Development Fund Ltd, brings more than 20 years’ experience on governance, economic policies and international development. In his capacity as an international expert and policy advisor, he has advised more than 60 countries on governance and economic reforms, sustainable development, use of ICT and new technologies, business integrity, among other development issues. Dr. Timilsina has edited, authored and co-authored more than two dozen of publications on governance, defense development, security sector reform, conflict prevention and peacebuilding, sustainable development, transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption. He also sits in the board of more than 10 international organizations and institutions and is also a regular contributor of opinion pieces on security, development and international affairs in various newspapers and magazines in Nepal and aboard.
 

Dr Timilsina was previously with RAND Cooperation, a U.S.-based nonprofit institution, where he worked on issues ranging from security sector reforms to defense development, post-conflict reconstruction to health and education reforms.  Dr. Timilsina has a Ph.D. in Policy Analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School and a master’s degree in international development from the International University of Japan. He also has a master’s degree in economics with distinction from Tribhuvan University Nepal. He was also a gold medalist from Trichandra College when he received Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in the humanities.
